Although Struggle da Preacher started off as a rapper, he has always been into acting. The subconscious level was the first to be affected. He tried making his first film back in 2003 when he didn’t have the slightest idea about the behind-the-scenes world of movies.
Some of his music videos without a storyline that were stylistically similar to movies carried him away. The magic of those shots got the best of him. Later when he started to incorporate storylines in his music videos, this mini movie world captivated him. It resulted in realizing his love for acting grew more and more.
In 2007, being subconsciously influenced by his passion for acting and movies, he wrote his first screenplay that inspired the movie Can I Recognize Your Soul but was not shot until 2016 and released in 2019.
Without an acting degree and a lack of experience, it was almost impossible for him to land a role in auditions. Knowing he had a tiny chance of landing a major role, but still having a huge love of acting, he started working on his own films. In addition to that, he had the firm belief that a decent movie could be made on virtually no budget.
Despite Struggle’s shy nature and dislike of interacting verbally, his passion for the things he loves has always been so fierce that he has always been able to gather up ways that would seem impossible in order for them to come through.
A project is never too small or too big for Struggle, as long as the crew members are enthusiastic and the project does not end up gathering dust. At the same time, he never prioritizes the number of views a video will receive.
